Eating is probably one of the most enjoyable activities of our daily lives. Mealtime is an opportunity for all of us to spend some time with our family and friends, while we enjoy a delightful food. That’s why, I think, we use celebrations like an excuse to eat something delicious (or vice versa? J)

I have never been a very fussy eater, but I have to say Italian food is my favorite, more than any other. I have always loved pastas, tomato sauce, lasagna, ravioli, etc. Although we only know a small part of Italian cuisine, there are a lot of recipes we could delight including other ingredients we can use in regular preparations, like bacon, salami, basil, thyme, garlic, etc. Italian food is characterized for its simplicity, because they don’t use too many ingredients for each preparation, but Italian cooks concerns about the quality of the ingredients they use. In the main, Italian food preparations are based in flour, vegetables, all kind of meats, sauces, potatoes, etc., and it’s very varied according to the geographic region in which it’s prepares.

In Chile, we didn’t use to vary our diet and we always ate the same things (rice, noodles, chicken, fast food, etc.). Nevertheless, I believe we have been gradually changing our taste, expanding our possibilities and improving our daily menus. I think that making our meals better has been possible because of the cultural openness that has been promoted in recent years. This allows us to know different feeding customs and include more options in our menus.
